Amanda Marino: From Darkness to Light in Recovery
I want people to know that they're capable of anything and that we stand in our own way.
Amanda Marino’s story is a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Starting her recovery journey at a young age, Amanda’s path was riddled with challenges. Her addiction, rooted in childhood abuse and trauma, led her through a revolving door of rehabs and detention centers from the age of fourteen to twenty-six. It wasn't until she found her aunt deceased from substance abuse that Amanda decided to fight for her sobriety one last time.
Today, with over 13 years of sobriety under her belt, Amanda is a recovery coach and certified interventionist, dedicated to helping others find their way out of addiction. In this episode of 'Sober Nation FM', Amanda opens up about her struggles and triumphs, shedding light on the misconceptions surrounding interventions. Contrary to popular belief, she explains, interventions are peaceful and loving events aimed at guiding individuals towards recovery.
Amanda also shares how her son became her greatest motivator and how her business partner, Blake Cohen, played a pivotal role in establishing Next Level Recovery Associates. Highlighting the significance of having a sponsor and the impact of creating a non-profit organization to support women in recovery attending college, Amanda’s story is one of hope, determination, and transformation. Tune in to hear Amanda’s inspiring journey and discover how resilience, support, and self-belief can help overcome adversity.
