Wes Hurt's Clean Cause: Transforming Addiction Recovery Through Innovation

I was doing anything I could not to feel...I needed to devote my life to helping others in their recovery journeys.
Imagine turning a personal battle with addiction into a lifeline for others. That's exactly what Wes Hurt, founder of the Austin-based beverage company Clean Cause, has done. In this heartfelt episode of 'Sober Nation FM', Wes opens up about his 20-year struggle with addiction, which began as casual experimentation and quickly spiraled into a means of escape. "I was doing anything I could not to feel", he admits.
It wasn't until an early 12 Step meeting that Wes had an epiphany: his recovery journey had to be about more than just himself. He needed to help others find their way too. Wes channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into creating Clean Cause, a sparkling yerba mate beverage brand with a mission that goes beyond quenching thirst.
Clean Cause donates 50% of its profits to fund recovery services, having already contributed $600,000 in scholarships and planning to distribute at least another $500,000 in the coming year. Wes’s story is a testament to the power of giving back and the profound impact one person can have on the recovery community. Now more than six years sober, Wes continues to grow both personally and professionally.
His journey isn't just about overcoming addiction; it's about creating a sustainable movement that helps others do the same. This episode dives into the challenges of running a beverage company while staying committed to a cause, highlighting the importance of community and sustainability in recovery. Whether you're in recovery yourself, supporting someone who is, or simply interested in stories of resilience and innovation, this episode offers a compelling look at how one man's vision is making a real difference.
Tune in to 'Sober Nation FM' and be inspired by Wes Hurt's journey from addiction to recovery, and his ongoing mission to help others find their path.
