Sustainable Seafood and Brain Health: Jeff Tedmori's Mission
I really wanted to set out on this mission where we could actually pay fishermen a living wage, pay them more than anybody else is willing to pay them, and prove out the hypothesis that if you do that, they'll take better care of the product and our customers are going to get a higher quality product at The End Of The Day.
Ever thought about how your seafood choices impact your brain health? Dr. Daniel Amen and Tana Amen bring Jeff Tedmori, the founder of E-Fish, to the mic to discuss just that. Tedmori’s passion for fishing and sailing steered him from a career at Patagonia to business school at MIT, all with a mission to revolutionize the seafood industry. He discovered that fishermen were often undervalued and underpaid, leading to poorer quality seafood.
Determined to change this, Tedmori set out to ensure fishermen are paid fairly, believing that respect and fair wages result in better care of the catch and, ultimately, a superior product for consumers. In this episode, you'll learn how sustainable seafood practices not only benefit the environment but also contribute to a healthier brain. Tedmori shares his insights on the importance of treating people right, preserving the ocean, and how these values translate into better quality seafood.
If you’re curious about the intersection of brain health and sustainable practices, this episode offers a fresh perspective on how your diet choices can make a significant difference.
