I think that form of control, I 100% agree with you. That's self, right? That's self-control. But that also goes along with commitment. Because I think a lot of us at times feel like, you know, we're not managing, we're not hitting the goals we want to achieve. We're not taking care of ourselves. At a certain point, you're the one that is in control of your time. I mean, there are things outside that you have to do, but commit to getting some of that self-control and saying, okay, no, I'm going to commit to going to the gym or doing yoga. I'm going to commit to eating right. Those are things that we can control. It's not a lot.
Ever wonder why you feel the need to control everything around you? In this episode of 'Laughing Without Liquor', hosts Tamar Medford and Lane Kennedy tackle this very question. With a blend of personal stories and thoughtful reflections, they dive deep into how our past, especially childhood experiences and trauma, can shape our present-day behaviors. Control can be both a friend and a foe, and Tamar and Lane don't shy away from exploring its dual nature.
They discuss how recognizing situations beyond our control can be liberating and share practical tips like journaling and self-awareness to help manage the urge to control. Their candid conversation creates a safe space for listeners to reflect on their own experiences and consider the impact of control on their lives. Whether you're on a journey to sobriety or just trying to live more mindfully, this episode offers valuable insights and relatable anecdotes to help you embrace vulnerability and mindfulness.
