Sober Dating: Transforming Connections for Those in Recovery
I think it also does give the user quite a bit of control, given that you can listen, you can say I don't care, I don't care if you've been sober for a day or for, you know, Years, or you can say no sobriety, you're the length of sobriety super important to me and I really want to be with someone that's been sober for x amount of Years, that speaks to their sponsor this many times during The Month, or you can really take control of that, I think, which is which is nice too, absolutely.
What if dating could be easier and more meaningful for those in recovery? In this episode of Recovery Rocks, hosts Lisa Smith and Tawny Lara sit down with Kathy and Morgan, the mother-daughter team behind the innovative Sober Dating app. They chat about the app's creation, aiming to make dating less awkward and more supportive for people on their sobriety journey.
Lisa and Tawny even ponder, 'Where was this when we were single?' Kathy and Morgan share their personal stories, including Morgan's experience with 'mommy wine' culture and her blog, Lilies and Lambs, which started from her struggles with infertility. The conversation also touches on how society views sobriety, the power of language, and the influence of social media. To wrap things up, there's a lively Music Minute featuring tunes from Matoma, Dolly Parton, and Maggie Rogers.
Whether you're single or simply curious about the intersection of dating and sobriety, this episode offers a fresh perspective and plenty of laughs.
