It's easy to see why we turn to alcohol, because we want to look for an easy solution. And it's easy to paint wine as that easy solution. But then it's not, it's not, it's not at a point when you're lonely you feel that that bottle or that glass of wine is your friend because you integrate it into your life so you're like i'm just gonna i'm gonna be watching a movie tonight of course it's natural to have a glass of wine and even talking to my physical therapist this morning she said she goes wine she said exactly what we say in our community all the time she's like how come alcohol is so normalized and so socially acceptable but like doing heroin isn't and it's kind of the same thing i'm like it is the same thing and it causes more issues than heroin does like statistically
Picture this: you're caught in a relentless cycle of drinking to cure your hangover, only to wake up the next day feeling worse. This is the reality that Hadley Sorensen, a mom of three and lifelong runner, faced before she decided enough was enough. In this compelling episode of 'The Weekend Sober', hosts Kim and Kezia sit down with Hadley to discuss her path to sobriety and the challenges she overcame along the way.
The trio dives into the deceptive allure of the mommy wine culture, fueled by Instagram memes and clever marketing from Big Alcohol. Hadley opens up about her toxic relationship with alcohol, emphasizing that it wasn't about the quantity she drank, but the emotional turmoil it caused. Two years ago, she woke up with her last hangover and made the life-changing decision to embrace sobriety.
Now, Hadley shares her story with the hope of reaching others who might be struggling just as she did. This episode isn't just about quitting alcohol; it's about breaking free from societal norms and finding a more fulfilling life. If you've ever felt trapped by your drinking habits or questioned the normalization of alcohol in our culture, this conversation will resonate deeply.
Join Kim, Kezia, and Hadley for an honest, heartfelt discussion that sheds light on the complexities of addiction and the power of personal transformation.
