Janis' Journey: Finding Joy Amid COVID-19 Challenges
The happiest part of covid has been relinquishing some of my personal responsibility to other people, or things that I was taking personal responsibility for myself that I could actually outsource to somebody who has more knowledge and skillset than I do really, putting my own health and my own fitness, my own nutrition, back to a place that I used to before I started a business and had a child, put it back on number one burning priority list and after Six To Eight Weeks that fog of depression had cleared.
When COVID-19 hit, Janis, a single mom and business owner, found herself overwhelmed by the sudden changes. With her child at home and her business needing a quick shift to digital, she worked tirelessly to adapt. But after weeks of relentless effort, she faced burnout and was diagnosed with situational depression. This diagnosis was a wake-up call for Janis, who had never experienced depression before. Rather than letting it consume her, she decided to make significant changes in her life.
She started exercising regularly, something she hadn't done in nearly a decade, and embraced a vegan diet to improve her nutrition. One of the most impactful changes was learning to delegate tasks and set boundaries, allowing her to focus on her health and well-being. Through these self-care strategies, Janis managed to lift the fog of depression and find happiness again. Her story is a testament to resilience and the importance of prioritizing oneself, especially during tough times.
