Marilyn's Path to Sobriety: Finding Strength in Vulnerability

I remember just feeling this relief just fall off my shoulder. And I was like yeah, and it was funny because I remember thinking like I'm doing her her a huge favor.
Ever felt like you needed to be in control of everything, all the time? Marilyn knows that feeling all too well. Growing up in a chaotic household in New York, with a much older father and a mother who demanded perfection, Marilyn's early years were marred by shame and pressure. She recalls drinking for the first time with her mom and instantly craving more. That initial sip set her on a wild path of blackout drinking and spiraling chaos.
It all came to a head after a disastrous holiday party, leading Marilyn to hit rock bottom both spiritually and physically. In a moment of desperation, she found herself on her knees, sincerely begging for help. What happened next changed her life forever. Marilyn reached out to a client she knew was in recovery, marking the beginning of her journey with Alcoholics Anonymous. With newfound determination, she attended her first meeting and embraced the program wholeheartedly.
Today, Marilyn is a testament to the power of admitting powerlessness and seeking help. She shares her story with humility and confidence, highlighting the importance of making amends and prioritizing sobriety every single day. Her transformation is nothing short of inspiring; she no longer feels the need to drink over anything. Marilyn's story is a beacon of hope for anyone struggling with addiction, proving that it's possible to find strength in vulnerability and emerge stronger on the other side.
