Jose's story is one of resilience and transformation. Growing up in a tough New Jersey neighborhood, he faced constant turmoil and never felt like he belonged. His father's sporadic presence in Alcoholics Anonymous left untreated anger and led to harsh discipline at home. Seeking an escape, Jose turned to nightclubs and substances, hoping to find relief from his inner turmoil. His rebellion spiraled into a life of constant partying and substance abuse, leaving him exhausted and lost.
In his 30s, Jose found temporary solace in church and managed five years of sobriety. However, a single glass of wine brought him back into the depths of addiction. It wasn't until he hit rock bottom that he found the courage to attend an AA meeting. There, he discovered a supportive community and a new path to relief. Today, Jose's girlfriend has never seen him drink—a testament to his ongoing recovery.
