I think the way I see it most is, yeah, I think in assertiveness, it's just like, I've coached so many people to go talk to their boss or a supervisor. And it's the simplest thing to me. Right. And they're like, what do you mean? I can say that. And you have to give them permission. And I'm like, what do you mean you can't like, there's nothing aggressive about this statement. It's just, Hey, you know, I, I need to talk with you. Can we spend a few minutes? And I, I just have some questions. I'm, I'm struggling with a certain thing. Yeah. What do you mean? That's scary. And I'm like, yeah, it is, it is scary for you. Right. And the harder you are. Yeah. It's a hard thing.
Parenting in today's world often feels like walking a tightrope. In this engaging episode of The Motyv Podcast, Shayden, Blake, Steve, and Sadie open up about their own parenting journeys and professional insights. They dive deep into the concepts of 'helicopter' and 'lawnmower' parenting, where parents either hover too closely or clear every obstacle from their child's path. These approaches, while well-intentioned, can hinder a child's ability to develop resilience and face life's inevitable challenges head-on.
Through candid discussions, the hosts explore how over-rescuing and enabling behaviors can impact a child's emotional growth, future relationships, and career readiness. They also share personal anecdotes, making the conversation relatable and grounded in real-life experiences. Whether you're a parent struggling with letting go or someone interested in the dynamics of modern parenting, this episode offers valuable advice on striking the right balance between support and autonomy.
You'll come away with practical tips for fostering independence while still being a supportive presence in your child's life.
