Nurses Unite: Rebuilding Saipan After a Super Typhoon

Super Typhoon Sautler was the worst one because it had a tornado in it. It hit pretty much towards the south side of the island and we were sheltered in the north side. You see pictures, but sometimes you get numb, because is that a movie. And it was a little quicker than I planned on.
What happens when a small island faces the wrath of a super typhoon? In this gripping episode of 'Rehabilitationships', we journey to Saipan, where the devastation of a super typhoon in 2018 left half the island in ruins. Meet Annie Cangco, a dedicated caregiver for her family, including her son who lives with a spinal cord injury. Her world was turned upside down by the storm, but her resilience shines through as she shares her story.
Alongside her is Kathie Fetting, a registered nurse at Mary Free Bed and a volunteer with the American Red Cross. Kathie’s journey to Saipan to aid in disaster relief brings a new dimension to the narrative. She talks about her path into nursing, her Red Cross experiences, and her first-hand account of the typhoon's aftermath. This episode is a testament to the power of community and the incredible impact of education and resources in rehabilitation.
Tune in to hear how these two remarkable women came together to rebuild not just structures, but lives.
