By 13, he was smoking marijuana, and at 14, he added alcohol to the mix. But it didn’t stop there. Aaron soon discovered the ease of pilfering pills from friends' medicine cabinets, leading him down a dark path. His addiction to Oxycontin lasted a year and a half, but it was just the beginning of his struggles.
At 20, Aaron’s life took a dramatic turn when he was arrested for forging prescriptions. This was his wake-up call. Hitting rock bottom, he entered an in-patient rehab center in 2001 and has been sober ever since.
