I didn't drink to excess but... it just became a part of who I was... the fact that I like to drink... it just became part of my I guess my personality and who I was.
Have you ever felt like drinking was just part of fitting in? Jessica from Norwich knows that feeling all too well. Growing up in the 90s, she found herself swept up in the drinking culture, which only intensified during her university years. It wasn’t until she had her first child at 29 that she began to question the 'mummy wine culture' that many new mums fall into.
In this episode, Jessica opens up about her journey to 5.5 years of sobriety, sharing the highs and lows along the way. She talks about how drinking became a part of her identity and how she finally broke free from it. Now, Jessica spends her time volunteering at festivals, crocheting, and planning trips in her camper van. Her story is a testament to the power of self-awareness and the joy that can come from living an alcohol-free life.
If you’re looking for a dose of inspiration and a reminder that change is possible, Jessica’s story is one you won’t want to miss.
