Reid's journey began with his own adoption from Menno, South Dakota.
His life took a pivotal turn at seven when his family traveled to Romania to adopt a six-month-old boy. This experience ignited a lifelong passion for the power of family bonds. Fast forward to his senior year of high school, Reid reconnected with his biological family, meeting his parents, brother, and twin half-sisters, deepening his understanding of family connections. Jessi's path was equally compelling. She became a mother at sixteen, supported by her family and community.
When Reid and Jessi met in 2017, they each brought three children from previous relationships into their new life together. Their shared experience of blended families became the cornerstone of their relationship.
