Lacey's Journey: From Addiction to Advocacy

I tell you from working in the industry and seeing individuals that are in relationships trying to do it together. Now you're leaving me to just kind of like try to take care of all this stuff by myself, and I remember him like being on the phone with his mom and his aunt and a treatment provider, and they were just talking back and forth.
Ever wondered how someone goes from a seemingly quiet childhood to battling severe addiction? In this episode of 'Recovery Uncensored', Lacey opens up about her tumultuous journey. Growing up on various military bases, Lacey's early years were marked by constant movement and a sense of instability. At 8, she finally settled in Illinois, where her life seemed to find some calm. But behind this facade of normalcy, a storm was brewing.
Her experimentation with cocaine soon spiraled into a full-blown heroin addiction, a secret she kept from family and friends. Lacey recounts the lengths she went to hide her drug use and the dramatic turn her life took as she fell deeper into addiction. Yet, her story doesn't end there. Through sheer determination and the support of those around her, Lacey found her way to recovery.
Today, she's not just sober but actively giving back, helping others who are in the same dark place she once was. Tune in to hear Lacey's inspiring tale of resilience, the pivotal role of relationships in her recovery, and her ongoing mission to support others on their journey to sobriety.
