Cycling for a Cause: Raising Parkinson's Awareness Across America

Our goal is to officially complete the race within The Allotted Days, but we really want to bring awareness and we want to raise money for this parkinson's research that we feel could help patients around the world and could add quality of life to so many people that suffer from parkinson's.
Imagine cycling over 3,000 miles to support a loved one with Parkinson's disease. That's exactly what Scott Luikart is doing in the Race Across America. In this episode of 'Pathways to Parkinson's Relief', Dr. Jay Alberts from the Cleveland Clinic joins Scott to share their inspiring journey. Scott is riding to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's research, driven by his brother's battle with the condition. Dr.
Alberts, who will be driving the support vehicle, dives into his groundbreaking research on how forced exercise, like tandem cycling, can significantly improve motor function in Parkinson's patients. He shares fascinating findings and real-life success stories that offer hope to many. Scott opens up about his personal connection to Parkinson's, the challenges of training for such a demanding race, and his unwavering determination.
This episode is a heartfelt blend of science and personal experience, emphasizing the power of community support and innovative treatments. Whether you're personally affected by Parkinson's or just looking for a dose of inspiration, this conversation is sure to leave you feeling hopeful and motivated.
