Olga's Path: From Isolation to Community and Sobriety

Avalon saved my life when I had a very difficult time...I'm single and I have to heal that because I have.
Imagine moving to a new country where you barely speak the language and feel completely alone. That's exactly what happened to Olga when she left Russia for Canada. In her quest to cope with these overwhelming feelings of isolation and frustration, she turned to alcohol. What followed was a difficult journey through addiction, but Olga's story doesn't end there. In this episode, you'll hear about her incredible transformation from despair to hope.
Battling addiction and overcoming numerous obstacles, Olga found lasting sobriety in 2008, thanks to the support of AA and Avalon Recovery Society. Now, she's giving back by facilitating Avalon's first Russian-speaking AA meeting. Olga's story is a powerful testament to the importance of community and the human spirit's resilience. She candidly shares how Avalon saved her life during one of her darkest times.
Her experiences offer valuable insights into the struggles of addiction, the loneliness of isolation, and the profound impact of seeking help. This episode is a must-listen for anyone grappling with similar issues or supporting someone who is. It's not just about the challenges Olga faced; it's about the triumphs and the enduring hope that recovery brings.
