Jack Grimm's life took a dramatic turn when he found himself caught in the grip of addiction. Growing up in Catonsville, Maryland, Jack had what many would call a privileged childhood. But his world started to crumble when his parents divorced during his sophomore year of high school. It wasn't long before Jack turned to marijuana, LSD, and alcohol to cope, setting off a chain of events that led him deeper into despair and hopelessness.
His relationships with family and friends deteriorated, leaving him isolated and desperate for a way out. Enter Helping Up Mission in Baltimore, Maryland. This spiritual recovery program became Jack's lifeline, offering him a community that truly cared. Jack fondly recalls, 'I've never met one person in the Helping Up Mission that hasn't had a smile on their face or the time. They've always had the time to talk to you.
No one ever says I'm too busy, can't talk right now. They'll always make time for you because they actually truly care here'.
