Your organism is fundamentally and evolutionarily completely organized around the logic of survival. A, B, zero, one, black, white. Over millions of years of evolution, it has developed a variety of strategies to execute the goal of not dying. In your ideal organism, you can't see this, but it's making a wave with its hand, like a parabola up and down. The nervous system is designed to go from sympathetic activation to parasympathetic activation, both in a survival instance and a regular day, right? You need some arousal. In CFS, usually what's happened for most people is that their logic of survival, that brain trying, that organism trying to survive has actually been in sympathetic mode.
Imagine a world where your chronic pain isn't just labeled and dismissed, but truly understood and addressed. In this episode, Dr. Jude, also known as Dr. Body Mind Soul, sits down with Karden Rabin, co-founder of CFS School, to dive into the intricacies of mind-body medicine. With over 15 years of experience in bodywork, Karden specializes in somatic experiencing and the emotional aspects of chronic pain.
He's on a mission to uncover the real roots of human pain and disease, challenging the often superficial diagnoses of modern medicine. Together, they discuss the hurdles faced by those with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, and similar conditions, and why it's crucial to integrate mind and body for true healing. Karden shares his insights on how early childhood experiences shape our nervous and immune systems, highlighting the profound impact of attachment injuries and trauma.
He also explains how bodywork and neuroplasticity can rewire the brain and nervous system, offering a holistic approach to managing chronic illnesses. This episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to understand the deeper connections between mind, body, and health, and how to live a more fully expressed life.
