Kendall's Journey: Balancing Business and Motherhood

I figured out ways to use the economic downturn to my advantage, because I was able to place myself in a place when agencies started laying off their in-house designers, they still need to get the work done, so they had to start using people like me in order to get their work done.
What happens when you mix the ambition of starting your own business with the joys and challenges of motherhood? Kendall's story answers that question in a truly inspiring way. Before becoming a mother, Kendall decided to take a leap of faith and start her own graphic design company. She took business classes, found mentors, networked like a pro, and taught herself the ropes of entrepreneurship. Fast forward ten years, and Kendall, alongside her husband, runs a thriving graphic design business.
But it wasn’t always smooth sailing. After the birth of her second daughter, Kendall faced the familiar yet daunting 'mommy guilt'. She struggled to balance her professional aspirations with her responsibilities as a mother. Then, following the sale of their house in Baltimore, Kendall made another bold move for the well-being of her family. In this episode of 'Birds In A Tree', Kendall opens up about her journey, sharing the highs and lows of being a working mom.
She talks about leveraging the economic downturn to her advantage, navigating maternity leave, and the importance of self-care and mental health. Her story is a testament to resilience and determination, showing that it's possible to achieve both personal and professional success. If you're juggling career and family or thinking about starting your own business, Kendall's experience offers valuable insights and encouragement.
