Jo Ferbrache: From Brewery Life to Sober Living
I know that I'm light and I'm dark, and in order to be the light, I have to have the dark inside of me.
Ever wondered how someone can go from working in a brewery to becoming a leader in the mindful drinking movement? Meet Jo Ferbrache, also known as Sober Jo. In this episode of 'One For The Road', David Wilson sits down with Jo to unpack her inspiring journey to sobriety. Jo's story is one of transformation and resilience. She stopped drinking in January 2019 after realizing her relationship with alcohol was far from healthy.
Whether celebrating or commiserating, alcohol was her go-to, even as a way to self-medicate her ADHD. Working in a 'work hard, drink harder' culture didn't help either. But Jo didn't just stop at quitting alcohol; she turned her life around completely. She completed a year-long charity challenge, raising over £15,000 while changing her own life for the better. Now, Jo is a passionate advocate for sober living in Jersey, running events both online and offline to support the sober community.
She’s also a certified coach offering a 12-week Sober programme. Jo’s journey is a testament to the power of self-discovery and community support. If you're looking for inspiration to make a positive change in your life, this episode is a must-listen.
