Jess Gaddes' story is one of raw struggle and remarkable transformation. Growing up in western Sydney, Jess faced a tumultuous journey through addiction, homelessness, and incarceration. By her twenties, she was caught in a cycle of petty crime to support her drug habit, all while grappling with an undiagnosed mental health disorder. Her life hit a low point, living in a flea-ridden shed and spending years in and out of courtrooms and correctional facilities.
At 27, Jess' life took a pivotal turn when she qualified for the Drug Court Program. Through this program and long-term rehabilitation, she found a path to recovery. Clean since April 19, 2016, Jess now channels her experiences into helping others facing similar battles. As a Co-Founder of Encapsulator, a video journaling platform, she advocates for alternative education and support systems. Jess holds a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs and is working towards a Diploma in Mental Health.
Her story is a beacon of hope, offering inspiration and practical advice for anyone navigating the challenging road to recovery.
