I feel really good. I know that sharing my story has a positive impact on other people, and I feel good about that. I feel like I'm making a difference in the world and I love that.
Georgia's story is a rollercoaster of emotions, beginning with a childhood overshadowed by her father's alcoholism. At just 12 years old, she found herself turning to alcohol, not knowing the dangers that lay ahead. By 14, Georgia was deep into substance abuse, trying anything she could get her hands on—weed, pills, uppers, downers. The chaos escalated, leading to multiple arrests and expulsion from school.
Her home life was no refuge either; her father’s drinking turned him violent, and Georgia found herself homeless at 15 after a brutal ultimatum from him. She couch-surfed, slept in parks, and wore the same dirty tracksuit day after day. But Georgia's story doesn't end in despair. At 17, she found the strength to seek recovery. Now 22 and over four years clean, she shares her journey of transformation.
Through music and creative outlets, Georgia has channeled her pain into something beautiful and healing. Her candid recounting of her past serves as a lifeline for anyone grappling with similar struggles. This episode is a testament to resilience and the power of seeking help.
