Hilary's Journey: From Heroin Addiction to Hypnotherapy

I think my advice would have to be to find a good book on self-hypnosis, if you didn't know anything about it, because that's what saved me. And so if you read a good book on self-hypnosis, I think that would give you a lot of tools to help you get well, basically, because that's what we want, isn't it?
What does it take to transform a life marked by addiction and loss into one of healing and purpose? In this compelling episode of 'Zero to Hero', host Craig Allen sits down with Hilary, who candidly shares her tumultuous journey. Growing up, Hilary faced the devastating loss of her mother and struggled to fit in at school. By the age of 14, she had already attempted suicide and began self-medicating with substances like glue and amphetamines, eventually turning to heroin.
Her story is not just about hitting rock bottom but about the incredible resilience it takes to climb back up. Hilary discovered self-hypnosis as a lifeline, a tool that helped her break free from the grip of addiction. Today, she’s not only clean but also a practicing hypnotherapist, dedicated to helping others find their way out of similar dark places.
This episode is a raw and honest conversation about the challenges of mental health and addiction, the transformative power of self-care, and the importance of finding the right therapeutic tools. Whether you’re struggling yourself or supporting someone who is, Hilary’s story offers hope and practical insights into the journey of recovery.
