G Little Eagle: From Struggles to Strength in Recovery

I prayed and I was like with our whole tribe shut down on the Rez and everywhere, and I knew our behavioral health system down there wasn't going to do anything about all the deaths that were suddenly happening. So I started the grief support on zoom and I still do that Today.
What does it take to turn your life around and help others do the same? G Little Eagle has some answers. In this episode of 'Recovery Talks', Lea Wetzel sits down with G to discuss his remarkable journey from addiction to becoming a beacon of hope as a Recovery Coach at One Health in Hardin. G’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance, community support, and the importance of giving back.
He shares candidly about his battles with addiction, including time spent in jail and hospitals, and how finding a partner who was also struggling with addiction became a turning point for him. Together, they had a child, which motivated G to seek a better life for his family. Now, he offers various activities and support groups for people in recovery in the Billings and Hardin areas.
One of his notable contributions is organizing the 'Carrying the Message Sobriety Conference' in Billings, an event that brings together individuals in recovery to share stories, gain insights, and build connections. Throughout the episode, G highlights the significance of peer support and the role of spirituality in his recovery journey. He talks about overcoming shame and stigma, finding strength in prayer, and how these elements have been crucial in maintaining his sobriety.
G’s story is not just about his own recovery but also about how he now dedicates his life to helping others find their path to healing. This episode is a powerful reminder that recovery is possible with the right support and resources. Tune in to hear G’s inspiring journey and learn more about the upcoming conference that aims to foster hope and connection among those in recovery.
