Alejandra W.: From Childhood Turmoil to Sobriety's Light

I found freedom when I lost everything and I have shared this in meetings before.
Picture a young girl, Alejandra W., growing up in South America, surrounded by the chaos of her mother's alcoholism. Raised by her grandparents, Alejandra's early exposure to AA meetings with her mother seemed like a beacon of hope. Yet, it wasn't enough to shield her from her own struggles with alcohol. By 15, she found herself in AA, but her journey was far from over.
At 22, she relapsed and descended into the depths of full-blown alcoholism, facing harrowing experiences and repeatedly finding herself back in AA's rooms. Fast forward to 2009, Alejandra returned to AA, utterly drained in body, mind, and spirit. Guided by the program and her sponsor, she painstakingly rebuilt her life. Now, with 11 years of sobriety under her belt, Alejandra's story is a testament to the transformative power of AA.
She remains deeply committed to the program, attending meetings, practicing the 12 Steps, and engaging in selfless service work. Her life today is a reflection of the blessings she has received and continues to pass on to others seeking help. This episode offers a raw and inspiring look at Alejandra's journey from turmoil to triumph, highlighting the resilience of the human spirit and the profound impact of community and support in recovery.
