Kristine Olsen: Shining a Light on Life After Suicide

So if my Four-Year-Old said he brushed his teeth after dinner before bed and he hadn't it, you know it's like why did you lie to me? So what I hear you saying is that what's different about how you and your husband parented your children versus, probably, of the parents out there, is that if an issue came up, you used it as a teaching opportunity so that they could learn the right way and hopefully slowly, slowly, take that same behavior and model that behavior, moving forward as they grew up- absolutely, although I'll stop you really quick, because my husband taught me that every opportunity, every moment out there, is a teaching opportunity, whether we do something or not.
Ever thought about the silent struggles of those left behind after a loved one's suicide? In this moving episode of 'Time Out for Mental Health', Kristine Olsen returns to share her powerful journey of resilience following her father's tragic death when she was just 15. Her story isn't just about survival; it's about advocacy, awareness, and offering a lifeline to others facing similar heartbreak.
Kristine dives deep into the often-overlooked challenges that survivors endure and the importance of support systems in navigating this painful path. She also tackles the critical issue of toxic masculinity and its impact on mental health, especially in the context of raising children. With the pandemic magnifying mental health issues, her message is more crucial than ever.
Whether you're dealing with your own mental health struggles or supporting someone who is, Kristine's insights offer hope, guidance, and a reminder that no one has to face these battles alone.
