For me, the way that I describe my kind of switch was finally moving from adolescence into adulthood and recognizing that you're an adult and you have choices and you have options and you get to dictate the way you spend your time and you get to be proud of that. I really like the idea that recovery means choice.
What if your path to sobriety didn’t fit the usual mold? In this episode of 'The Way Out', Jim Frawley, founder of Bellwhether Executive Development Firm, shares his distinctive journey to long-term recovery. Unlike many, Jim didn’t adhere to a specific recovery program like the 12-Steps or SMART Recovery. Instead, he carved out his own path, guided by a simple yet profound principle: 'It is hard to be satisfied with life if you’re never satisfied with yourself'.
Jim's story is a testament to the power of personal growth and self-satisfaction in achieving a meaningful, sober life. Through candid conversation, he reveals how embracing change and making conscious choices have helped him build a fulfilling life in recovery. Whether you’re just starting your journey or supporting someone who is, Jim’s insights offer valuable lessons on finding satisfaction and purpose beyond addiction.
