I feel like a lot of people do want to get sober or have problems with substances and just don't acknowledge it or do anything about it. So I would say just, you know, look into it, talk to some people that are in recovery, ask about their experiences; you might relate to it and be like wow, they can do it, I can do it.
Have you ever felt like you needed a fresh start? In this episode of The Sober Unicorn, Holden sits down with Lana, who opens up about her journey to recovery and the concept of a 'new normal'. Lana's story begins with her early struggles with substance use, which gradually escalated into dependency. Her candid recounting of these experiences provides a raw and relatable insight into the complexities of addiction.
Lana talks about her decision to relocate geographically to support her recovery, shedding light on how changing one's environment can be a crucial step in the healing process. She also discusses the societal pressures and normalization of alcohol, which can make sobriety feel like an uphill battle. From her days working as a bartender to seeking treatment, Lana's transition to a sober lifestyle wasn't easy, but it was transformative.
Social media played a significant role in her journey, helping to destigmatize sobriety and normalize conversations around addiction and recovery. Lana's reflections on her post-rehab life in South Florida offer valuable insights into navigating friendships and finding balance in a recovery-focused community. Her message is clear: you don't have to hit rock bottom to consider sobriety. Lana's openness and determination to share her story serve as a beacon of hope for anyone curious about the path to recovery.
