From Tragedy to Triumph: Kristian Ranta's Journey with Meru Health

We want to make the clinic globally available to people in different states, in the US but also in other countries. Because if you want to become a successful startup or a company and you want to make an impact, you can't get there if you're fighting with each other all the time.
When Kristian Ranta lost his older brother to suicide in 2005, it was a devastating blow. But instead of succumbing to despair, Kristian channeled his grief into creating Meru Health, a digital mental health clinic aimed at helping others facing similar struggles. In this episode of the Stigma Podcast, hosted by Stephen Hays, Kristian opens up about his brother's battle with depression and substance use, and how the lack of quality care played a tragic role in his untimely death.
Kristian's story is one of resilience and innovation, as he founded Meru Health in 2016 to offer a tech-enabled telehealth practice that includes a 12-week digital therapeutic program with therapists, psychiatrists, and HRV biofeedback. This episode dives deep into the workings of Meru Health, from the easy intake process to the comprehensive therapeutic offerings.
Kristian also shares valuable advice for aspiring entrepreneurs in the mental health space, making this episode a must-listen for anyone interested in mental health solutions or startup culture. Tune in to hear how one man's mission to honor his brother's memory is making waves in the mental health field.
