Breaking Barriers: Mendonoma Health Alliance's Fight Against Opioid Stigma
Episode Overview
Mendonoma Health Alliance's upcoming mobile health clinic, anti-stigma campaign, and peer recovery program Challenges of providing healthcare services in a rural community with limited access Innovative strategies to bridge the gap and improve healthcare access Impact of the #OvercomingAddiction campaign on the community's perception of addiction Partnerships with public health for promoting anti-stigma campaigns and reaching the community
We started working with public health because we know in LEND, in the Ukiah area, they have a big reach in the community. They also had access to some other human resources, people in the community who could really help promote the campaign. We started on our journey. In the first year, we did mainly one video. It was a four-minute video that really gave a whole county-wide view of addiction. And we included people who are in recovery in that campaign and their stories. And then it really got traction.
