I found a similar definition, but it doesn't include the reward part so it says continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulty failure or opposition okay and so another one i found was perseverance refers to our ability to pursue a goal or passion over time and stick with it if we encounter obstacles or setbacks and that one doesn't mention the reward or achievement the goal being the reward i guess i mean and when i think of it that way it is usually to achieve a goal but it's the goal just to keep doing the thing because if that is maybe that's where it gets unhealthy it's a circular argument like you know i gotta keep this goal up and the goal is just keep doing this shit when it doesn't feel good
