Laura Silverman: Battling ADD, OCD, and Alcoholism on the Road to Recovery

I don't have what a lot of people call quote, unquote- conscious contact with a higher power. I have anxiety, I have panic attacks, I have ocd and my mind is always and add, it's always going a mile a minute and sometimes it just feels like it's stuck, like my brain is locked, and so all that was going on back in high school, but I didn't have the vocabulary to express that.
Laura Silverman's story is a powerful testament to resilience and determination. In this episode of The Recovery Revolution Podcast, hosted by Omar Pinto, Laura opens up about her struggles with ADD, OCD, and alcoholism. Her journey is one of overcoming immense challenges and finding hope in unexpected places. From her first drink in high school to a terrifying hospitalization due to alcohol poisoning, Laura's experiences highlight the complexities of addiction and mental health.
Despite initially struggling to articulate her feelings and mental health issues, Laura found a lifeline in a structured recovery program. This program, consisting of multiple weekly sessions, provided her with the support and tools she needed to start her recovery journey. Laura's initial resistance to the spiritual aspects of the program gradually gave way to acceptance and healing, influenced by several transformative books.
Today, Laura stands as an inspiration to many, proving that recovery is possible with personal accountability and vulnerability. Her story is a beacon of hope for anyone facing similar battles.
