Dirk Eldredge: From Addiction to Empowering Women with Trauma

And from that moment to this moment, I have not been compelled to use drugs or alcohol, and I've been gifted with this awareness in the unknowing, like that same low self-esteem and high fear of failure which paralyzed me for years, is now the same thing that frees me, and I have never been so certain that I don't know shit and that it's absolutely okay, and it's like it's just the story we make up in our head.
Imagine being a high-functioning addict for 20 years, chasing the wrong goals, only to find your true calling in helping others. That’s the incredible journey of Dirk Eldredge, who joins Curt Neider and Shelley Mangum on the 'Illuminate Recovery Podcast'. Dirk opens up about his struggles with low self-esteem and a deep sense of failure that led him down the path of addiction.
Despite a successful career, his life took a dramatic turn when his body couldn't keep up anymore, forcing him to confront his addiction head-on. This pivotal moment led him back to college to study addiction, changing his life forever. Now, Dirk is a successful interventionist and life coach, even working with the Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks. But his heart lies with Momenta Recovery, where he helps women dealing with trauma.
He understands the critical need for safe spaces and the role of a supportive male figure in their recovery. Many of these women have never experienced a positive father figure, and Dirk steps in to fill that void, providing them with the safety and trust they need to heal. His approach is deeply personal and genuine, focusing on building authentic relationships and the power of simply listening.
Dirk believes that understanding and holding space for someone can make all the difference in their recovery journey. Tune in to hear Dirk’s inspiring story and his heartfelt dedication to helping women overcome trauma on the 'Illuminate Recovery Podcast'.
