Ice, Baths, and Anger: A Refreshing Way to Let Go of Frustration

And what we do is we have this great adoring ice machine and we fill up buckets of ice with it and we take them in one of the bedrooms, into the bathroom, and we ask them to take a handful of ice and claim what it is they're angry about and throw the ice in the bathtub and the ice makes a cracking sound and it bounces all over the place and it's like the first, the first handful.
What do you get when you mix a bathtub, ice, and some pent-up anger? An unusual but surprisingly effective method for dealing with frustration! In this episode of '101 Ways to Heal That Sh*t', hosts Angela Shelton and Aly Drummond are joined by Kim Mayer, a contributor to Survivor Manual and the brains behind the FLY: First Love Yourself women's retreats. And yes, they’re all in a bathtub—talk about setting the scene for some serious self-care talk.
Kim introduces a quirky technique that involves filling buckets with ice and tossing them into the tub. The sound of the ice cracking and bouncing around provides a cathartic release for those pent-up emotions we all struggle with. It's a bit unconventional, but sometimes that's exactly what we need to break through our emotional barriers.
Throughout the episode, Angela, Aly, and Kim share their personal experiences with anger and frustration, making it clear that everyone faces these emotions, and there are many ways to manage them. From humorous anecdotes to heartfelt moments, this episode is a rollercoaster of emotions that will leave you feeling understood and maybe even inspired to try something new.
