Jeff Rogers: Finding Sobriety and Building a Beautiful Life

I was standing at the gates of death and I had the gift of desperation, and I came into a room, a group full of drunks, and they gave me good, orderly direction and that gave me a spiritual life for like the first Two And A Half Years before I, you know, found- you know, god of my understanding before I could put a label on what my higher power was.
How often do you get the chance to reconnect with an old friend and discover they've turned their life around in the most inspiring way? That's exactly what happened when Jason, co-host of 'The Way Out', bumped into Jeff Rogers at a recovery event. After 25 years apart, they reconnected, and Jason learned that Jeff had just celebrated his first year of sobriety.
In this heartwarming episode, Jeff opens up about his journey to sobriety, the role of service work in his recovery, and how he has built a fulfilling life with his family in Minnesota. Jeff's story is a testament to the power of honesty and the willingness to change. He didn't have to hit rock bottom to realize he needed help; instead, he embraced the gift of desperation and sought out a supportive community.
Martial arts have played a significant role in Jeff's recovery, helping him maintain both mental and physical health. His dedication to service work, including cooking for people at his home club, highlights the importance of giving back. Through his journey, Jeff has repaired many relationships and found joy in his family life. This episode is a reminder that hope and a beautiful life in recovery are always within reach.
Tune in to hear Jeff's inspiring story and find out how you too can build a fulfilling life in sobriety.
