The first thing that I would recommend that they do, and this is what I usually tell people that I work with to do, get a pen and paper and envision yourself a year from now. How do you want your life to look like? How do you want to be acting? All those things. Envision yourself a year from now and then write a letter to the you of today thanking them for not giving up, telling them how much you love them, how much you care about them, how proud you are of them, for overcoming all of these things so that the you of a year from now is living their best life.
What if your relationship with food was less about hunger and more about how you feel about yourself? In this episode of 'That Christian in Recovery', Vernon Layne sits down with Leslie Davis, the author of 'You Can't Eat Love', to explore this very question. Leslie shares her personal battle with food addiction, shedding light on how emotional ties to food can often mask deeper issues of self-worth and love.
Through her candid storytelling, Leslie reveals how learning to love herself transformed her relationship with food. She emphasizes the power of self-reflection, the impact of societal pressures, and the importance of celebrating small victories along the way. Vernon and Leslie's discussion also touches on the role of writing in processing emotions and breaking through denial.
Whether you're struggling with food addiction or seeking a path to self-love, this episode offers valuable insights and practical advice to help you envision a brighter, healthier future.
