Alex Czertok: Creating Safe Spaces for Healing and Growth

All goodness comes from suffering, and that's something it's really not nice to say that to clients. But I think that the reason, part of the reason and, like you said, it's very hard to say that to clients while they're suffering. But I'll tell you an interesting thing: my favorite people are all people who have been through really broken lives.
Imagine a place where young women can find solace and support during their toughest times. That's what Alex Czertok and his wife Bayla have built with The Monsey Lighthouse. In this episode of 'BrainStorm with Sony Perlman', Alex shares his journey of creating a sanctuary for over 70 girls aged 15-23 from the Monsey area. He opens up about the challenges and triumphs of running a safe, non-judgmental space where these young women can heal and grow.
Alex, who also works in real estate, has dedicated over 20 years to outreach and inreach programs for teens and young adults. He discusses the unique struggles faced by young women today and how The Monsey Lighthouse provides the much-needed support they often lack. From the difference between religion and spirituality to the importance of seeking help, Alex and Sony cover a range of topics that resonate deeply with anyone involved in recovery or community work.
One of the standout moments in their conversation is when Alex talks about the power of healing through suffering. It's a tough but essential concept that highlights the resilience and strength found in overcoming adversity. As Sony puts it, 'All goodness comes from suffering'. This episode is a testament to the incredible impact that empathy, compassion, and community can have on the recovery journey.
If you're interested in how community outreach can make a real difference, or if you're looking for inspiration on creating supportive environments for young people, this episode is a must-listen. Tune in to hear Alex Czertok's heartfelt insights and learn more about the transformative power of safe spaces.
