Mark's Turning Point: Embracing Change in AA

Episode Overview

  • Mark's realization that alcohol was no longer the solution to his problems
  • Insightful 'Ask it Basket' segment addressing confusing sayings in AA
  • Discussion on the role of vulnerability and seeking help in recovery
Relapse is a part of my recovery. So my acceptance of that and moving on is a very important thing rather than beating myself up. It's not a blanket statement to say that relapse is a part of everyone's recovery, but relapse is a part of some of our recovery. Our founder, Dr. Bob, had a relapse. There you go. That's right.
Ever had that moment when you just knew something had to change? In this episode of the AA Grapevine's Podcast, hosts Don and Sam chat with Mark from Casa Grande, Arizona. Mark opens up about a pivotal moment when he realized that alcohol was no longer working for him. This realization was like a wake-up call, pushing him towards seeking help through Alcoholics Anonymous. His story is a testament to the power of admitting defeat and finding strength in vulnerability.
Alongside Mark's journey, the episode also features an 'Ask it Basket' segment where Rebecca tackles questions about the slogan 'Think, Think, Think' and the tricky topic of relapse. Plus, Brad chimes in on the Listener Feedback Line, adding another layer of community support and connection. This episode is a blend of heartfelt stories, practical advice, and a touch of humor, making it a must-listen for anyone on the path to recovery or supporting someone who is.
