Valerie N.: A Journey of Faith, Recovery, and New Beginnings

I think that changed everything for me when I showed up to the courthouse with somebody else and I said, hey, I'm here, I've got a warrant, I have to turn myself in, I don't have the money. And that was an important amends to make, and a lot of people in this program, I know, because I've sponsored a lot of people, they won't do that. You know, god shows up, and that gives god the opportunity to show his power.
Valerie N. opens up about her transformative journey on this episode of The Magdalen House Podcast. She candidly shares how low self-esteem and early exposure to alcohol led her down a path of addiction. Valerie's struggles were profound, costing her relationships and stability, including the heart-wrenching loss of her children and multiple evictions. But her story doesn't end in despair. Valerie found a beacon of hope through faith and an unwavering willingness to change.
She dives into the crucial role of making amends in her recovery process, underscoring the importance of seeking help and embracing spiritual growth. Today, Valerie cherishes the loving relationships and friendships she has built in sobriety. Her journey is a powerful reminder that recovery is possible with faith and a willingness to seek change.
