  • Continuous updates to make Soberlink user-friendly and extend support beyond formal care
I've been in recovery since 2007. And so, that's 16 years and counting now. I really love the idea that there can be tools in place, technology in place to help someone early on in their recovery journey. It just allows for so much more freedom for the person in recovery, freedom and support because, you know, more options out there than in-person meetings and books.
Imagine having a tool that not only helps you stay accountable in your recovery but also rebuilds trust with your loved ones. In this episode of 'Recovery Corner', Soraya Sampson from Young People in Recovery sits down with Laura Crossett from Soberlink to discuss just that. They dive into the nuts and bolts of the Soberlink device, a remote alcohol breathalyzer designed to support individuals in their journey to sobriety.
Laura explains how scheduled tests and real-time alerts can provide peace of mind for families and foster a sense of independence for those in recovery. This technology isn't just about monitoring; it's about creating small victories throughout the day that motivate and encourage continued progress. Whether you're in a bustling city or a remote rural area, Soberlink's collaboration with healthcare professionals ensures you have a support system that aligns seamlessly with your existing therapy.
The episode also touches on the evolution of Soberlink since its inception in 2011, highlighting its ongoing updates to make the system more user-friendly. Laura emphasizes how these continuous improvements extend the support provided by treatment providers, even after formal care has ended. By the end of the episode, you'll gain a deeper understanding of how technology can play a pivotal role in recovery, offering both freedom and accountability.
Tune in to learn more about this innovative approach and how it can empower you or your loved ones on the path to an alcohol-free life.
