I think if we look back at your original question which was what do you think prevents people from going to AA, I modified your question a little bit, but within the cop world, firefighter world, and your reputation means a lot. Your reputation is a big deal. Not to diminish any other profession and how important that is, but it's a highly coveted piece of who you are, and to really humble yourself enough to say, 'I'm gonna go there and number one ask for help', and walking through the door is a symbolic version of expressing, verbalizing, 'I need help because I'm not doing this on my own.'
