What happens when childhood trauma and feelings of abandonment shape your life? Les K.'s testimony on the Celebrate Recovery Podcast offers a raw and moving answer. Growing up with deep emotional scars from abuse and abandonment, Les faced immense struggles with his identity and family relationships. But amid the chaos, he found solace in faith and the beauty of nature, where he felt God's presence. Through church and the natural world, Les began to heal and discover hope.
He shares how step studies and Bible studies have been pivotal in his growth as a Christian, especially step number two: 'We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity'. This step, along with others, has transformed his relationships and led him to co-facilitate a food addiction group in Celebrate Recovery.
Les's story is a testament to the healing power of faith and community, showing that even in the darkest times, hope and joy in Christ are possible.
