However, life threw him a devastating curveball when his wife's youngest son was tragically killed by a drunk driver. Overwhelmed by grief, his wife became bedridden, and Dave quit his job to care for her.
Their bond of love and devotion was tested further when she was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure, making Dave her sole caregiver.
