LaQuisha Hall: Transforming Pain into Advocacy for Abuse Prevention
If you do not educate your children about the red flags out there, if you do not educate the parents about the red flags of what's going on in our world, because you can't push it away, it's out there, then your child is much more in a very, very bad position of being abused.
Meet LaQuisha Hall, a powerhouse advocate from Baltimore, Maryland, who has turned her personal pain into a mission to help others. Recognized by leaders like former President Barack Obama and crowned Mrs. Maryland International 2023, LaQuisha is a force of nature in the fight against domestic violence, sexual abuse, and suicide.
In this episode of 'Stop Child Abuse Now', hosted by the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (NAASCA), LaQuisha shares her deeply personal journey through trauma and her path to becoming an advocate. She opens up about her struggles with low self-esteem and vulnerability that made her a target for predators, and how the absence of her father left her feeling isolated and unprotected.
Her story takes a turn towards hope as she discusses her healing journey and the strength she found to become a voice for others. Through her brand, Confident Canvas, LaQuisha uses art to raise awareness and educate communities about abuse prevention. She founded the SheRose Awards to give survivors a platform to share their stories, and mentors teen girls through Queendom T.E.A., focusing on personal safety and self-esteem.
This episode is a testament to the power of community support and education in healing from trauma. Tune in to hear LaQuisha's inspiring story and learn about the crucial work being done to support abuse survivors.
