Julie-Anne Grace: Healing Through Music and Self-Love

I really believe that we can soar, we can fly and we can use all of our experiences. And I really seek to give that message through my music.
Julie-Anne Grace's story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. Growing up in a violent, abusive, and cult-like environment in the UK, Julie-Anne endured physical, sexual, and emotional abuse from a young age. In this episode of 'Stop Child Abuse Now', she opens up about her traumatic past and the long journey to healing. Music became her refuge; she would often hide in her closet and sing to escape the pain.
Leaving home at sixteen, she continued to face abusive relationships, including a narcissistic marriage that left her with nothing. Despite these challenges, Julie-Anne turned to personal development and spirituality to rebuild her life. She took radical responsibility for her healing, feeling her emotions fully and learning to love herself. This transformative process helped her establish boundaries, form supportive friendships, and create a new life for herself.
Julie-Anne's story highlights the importance of safe spaces for survivors to share their experiences and find support. The episode also discusses the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study, which explores the lasting impact of childhood trauma on mental health and relationships. Julie-Anne's journey is a powerful reminder that healing is possible, and her music serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration.
