Nissi Hamilton: From Abandonment to Advocacy

Part of my recovery was being with other survivors and listening to their stories and telling my story out loud, little by little, piece by piece, and being able to talk about it.
Imagine being born into a world where you're abandoned at birth and left to navigate a life filled with trauma and uncertainty. That's the reality Nissi Hamilton faced. Born to an adolescent mother who was herself a victim of sexual trafficking, Nissi's early years were marked by neglect and abuse.
In this episode of 'Stop Child Abuse Now', Nissi takes listeners on a journey through her tumultuous childhood, including the harrowing experience of aging out of foster care and facing homelessness at just 15 years old. But Nissi's story doesn't end there. Today, she stands as a proud activist, motivational speaker, and life coach, teaching young girls and women how to break free from the cycle of poverty and human trafficking.
Her message is clear: community and support are vital for healing. Nissi's candid discussion about the power of sharing one's story and finding common ground with fellow survivors is both inspiring and empowering. She also delves into the ongoing fight against child abuse, advocating for stricter laws and better support systems for survivors. Join Nissi and the hosts of 'Stop Child Abuse Now' as they explore the importance of education, awareness, and community in the journey towards recovery.
