I was ashamed and heartbroken, but I was also addicted. I was in bondage like you wouldn't believe, and I couldn't understand, how is this possible? I have overcome a horrible childhood, two failed marriages, a rape, sexual assault, two layoffs, four years of unemployment as a single mother. I mean, I've gotten. I lost my mother tragically and horrifically. I've been through so much. So why couldn't I not do this? I couldn't understand. Alcohol and addiction are more powerful than anything.
