I think that I always had this passion for wanting to change systems or change people's sort of opportunity and life experiences, grew up around a lot of substance use and sort of co-occurring mental health issues and couldn't really figure out like what field that looked like. So I started taking social work courses and eventually really understood and felt like that was a good fit for me. So that's what got me into social work: is really just having someone, a mentor, help to identify for me what connecting me to the career path, of what I wanted to do, what I was verbalizing, what I wanted to do.
