Graham's Journey: From Binge Drinking to Lasting Sobriety
The great thing I've learned about alcohol is that the very first drink that you have, and possibly the second make you feel fantastic, lift all sorts of things from you, but it's only downhill all the way after that.
Picture yourself in your 20s and 30s, where binge drinking is just part of the social scene. That was Graham's life in Leeds. Despite being able to control his drinking most of the time, alcohol often left him feeling depressed and caused more problems than he initially realized. After several attempts to cut back, Graham finally decided to quit alcohol for good earlier this year.
In this episode of 'Voices of Sobriety: Real People, Real Recovery', hosted by Terry, also known as Sassy Sober Mum, Graham opens up about his journey to sobriety. He talks about the challenges he faced, the mental health benefits he's experienced, and the importance of community and support in staying sober. Graham's story is one of reflection, self-awareness, and resilience.
He also shares practical tips for staying sober during social events and holidays, offering a relatable and inspiring perspective for anyone struggling with alcohol. Tune in to hear Graham's warm and approachable take on living a sober life.
